Araucanía Andina
|
The Nevados de Sollipulli resort ( formerly eco-camp sollipulli ) is one of the most interesting luxury adventures that we have seen in southern Chile since the Huilo Huilo resort. Sollipulli is a camp composed of a series of interconnecting fixed luxury dome tents built at the foot of the Sollipulli Volcano in the heart of the Araucanía Andina region of Chile. That is just the start of what Nevados de Sollipulli has going for it.
 |
For those that do not know, the
Sollipulli volcano is an extinct volcano located in the middle of the
Araucania Andina ( Region IX ) of Southern Chile. Nevados de
Sollipulli was started by the owners of the Bayern Hotel in Temuco.
They know how to treat their guest, and run an international hotel. |
|
As spectacular as the Sollipulli base
camp is, the real attraction are the excursions to the Sollipulli
volcano. These range in difficulty from a easy horseback ride to the
termas or hot springs that dot the Araucanía Andina region, to
expeditions across the Glacier on top of the Sollipulli volcano.
There are many intermediate adventures from fly fishing to Mountain
biking to simply relaxing with a drink and enjoying the natural
wonders of Sollipulli's diverse ecosystems.

The main Sollipulli resort is composed
of a series of domes with wood floors, and are connected by a network
of wood walk ways. The main common dome acts a restaurant and bar for
guest, with a warm fire in the center for enjoying a glass of Chilean
wine after a day of hiking the Sollipulli volcano. Each room is an
individual dome, complete with central heating for the winters, full
bathroom, and all the other typical fixtures you would find in the
best hotel rooms. |
| The Sollipulli resort is located just
north of the resort town of Pucon, and operates year around. For the
winter time they offer x-country skiing and snow shoe adventures.
They are also happy to arrange transportation to places like the
local ski resorts and customize other tours across the Araucanía
Andina region and southern Chile in General.
