Coyhaique is a major destination for expat and foreign investors because it is one of the last locations in the Chilean Patagonia with very large and very cheap properties for Sale. Properties within about 3 hour drive of Coyhaique can commonly be more than 1000 hectares (2,500 acres) in size, and include lakes, rivers, ocean front, and mountain vistas.

Property prices can get as low as 120,000 CPL per hectare for extremely large properties, but more typically in the 500 hectare and up range are around 250,000 CPL per hectare to about 1,000,000 CPL per hectare. A good average to expect is about 300,000 CPL to about 500,000 CPL (about $600 to $1,000 US).

Smaller properties in the under 100 hectare category typically run about 1 million CPL to about 5 million CPL. There are still some good deals to be found for lots under 100 hectare with prices in the 300,000 CPL to 500,000 CPL range if you know where to look.

Small parcels in the under 10 hectare range will run about 6 million CPL and up, depending on their relative access to urban areas and roads.

Coyhaique has excellent transportation with the major regional airport providing daily jet service via LAN airlines and Sky airlines about 40 mins outside of Coyhaique proper.
