The Coyhaique airport, better known as the Balmaceda airport, is located about 40 min drive from the City of Coyhaique in the Patagonia. It is a small but modern airport and is the major regional transportation hub for this part of the Patagonia.

Major jet service from Santiago and Puerto Montt is via Lan Airlines and Sky airlines. Smaller regional charter services also fly out of this airport to points as far North as Puerto Montt.

In front of the airport you will find many shuttle services. Purchase a ride at one of the booths inside for about 5,000 pesos. Alternatively several rental car agencies have offices in the airport.
