The Frau Holle Hotel in Frutillar

The original colonial house was built by the Khromer family in the 40´s, and it has been operated as a hotel since 1981. In 2009, it was completely restored to offer guests modern comforts, while maintaining the warmth and style of the colonial lineage. The name “Frau Holle” is based on a character found in one of the Grimm Brothers fables where a woman Frau Holle offers her home and friendship, and is rewarded for her kindness and hard work.

Location
The Frau Holle is located in the colonial section of lower Frutillar, one block from the Theater of the Lake and the shores of lake Llanquihue. The theater is the newest and most advanced concert hall in South America, with regular performances by major international artists and musicians. The Frau Holle regularly offers special packages of hotel and tickets to performances. Once a year, Frutillar hosts the Frutillar music festival, and the Frau Hole is one of the best locations to experience a week of concerts at the theater; however, you must book well in advance for such a high demand event. The Restaurant at the Frau Holle is also an excellent place to have a chance to meet the artist, as they frequently visit the restaurant after performances for dinner and drinks.    

The Restaurant Frau Holle

The Frau Holle Restaurant is not just any restaurant in Frutillar, but is the restaurant where the owners and managers of other restaurants in Frutillar gather for happy hour drinks and dinner in the evening. The view from the patio captures the spectacular sunsets reflecting off the volcanoes across Lake Llanquihue. Frau Holle’s Kitchen is well known for it’s premium grilled meats and dishes with locally produced ingredients.  Another specialty of the Frau Holle Restaurant are the traditional German dishes like duck , lamb, and smoked pork, along with traditional Chilean dishes, and of course a full bar with  the finest Chilean wines.

The hotel has spacious and comfortable rooms all individually decorated to give you that cozy feeling of the past, with the luxury of the present; every room has central heating, Wi Fi, private bathroom and LCD televisions (with cable TV), and room service. Breakfast:
