This property is perfect for a retirement home, hotel, or fly fishing lodge.
The land is 117 hectares and is located 20 kilometers to the northeast of Futaleufu and may be accessed by barge in 45 minutes or by motorboat in around 15. This journey crosses the 18 kilometer-long Espolon Lake.
By foot or horse it takes around four hours to arrive to the property. Currently a project is underway to build a road that will connect Chaiten and Futaleufu passing the property. It is projected to be finished in 2009-2010.
The property has two rivers as its boundaries, the Rio Blanco and the Rio Espolon, both great for fishing. In addition, there is a large pond on the property itself that also has fish. It is located 700 meters from the Espolon Lake, the best place for fishing in Futaleufu.
The variety of trout that exist in the area are Rainbow and Brown trout.
The property has open flat areas as well as native forests of lenga, coihue, and mañio, some of which are more than five hundred years old, and small quantities of other trees typical of the Patagonia.
This area of the Chilean Patagonia falls under the Austral Law which discounts industrial projects and commerce. It also belongs to the Zona Franca or tax free zone of Punta Arenas that allows imported consumer goods from any part of the world, such as machines, vehicles, boats, etc.
