Real estate in Puyehue / Inter Lagos, Chile including special considerations when considering buying real estate in Puyehue or living in the Puyehue area of Chile. Land in Chile overall is going up in recent years, but the area around Puyehue is still for the most part an untapped market as far as both Chileans and Expats that are considering buying real estate in Chile.

Real estate in Puyehue and the near by area is still mostly overlooked. Prices in the area are more similar to the Patagonia than they are to real estate around Puerto Varas or real estate in Pucon, Chile that have such good transportation.

Property and real estate prices in Puyehue and Inter Lagos area start at around 2,000,000 Chilean Pesos and up. It is more typical to pay about 3.5 million Chilean pesos to about 8 million pesos for a nice 1 or 2 hectare property with good access and a great view.

Obviously as you move towards some of the more sought after vacation properties around the lakes prices go up, but still are under what you would expect for land in Chile that is this well situated near a major city ( Osorno, Chile ), ski resorts, hot springs, and a major transportation route through to Argentina and the Patagonia. In fact, you can not drive to the Chilean Patagonia without driving through the city of Osorno (about 40 mins West of Puyehue, Chile), and the town of Inter Lagos is the last major city before the Argentina Boarder that sits in the middle of a national park.

Just because this is a Latin American boarder town, do not confuse it wth the crime, corruption, drug addicts, of places in Central America like Panama or Costa Rica; or, even with other towns in South America. This town is a pristine clean and crime free small town in the foot hills of the andeas mountians. The board post with Argentina is modern, well regulated, and situated in the middle of national park. It is about a one hour spectular drive though massive pine trees, waterfalls, and lakes to reach the boarder. It is easy to drive to Barriloche, Argentian for a day of shopping or to go ski on one of the many World famious resorts. Puyehue also has its own ski resort, and is about a 20 min drive from the town of Inter Lagos.
