Is it possible for a foreigner to get a bank loan or mortgage in Chile to buy Real Estate? |
|
Foreigners are almost never given
credit by Chilean banks. To even be considered for a loan by a bank,
you must have at least permanent residency in Chile. Chile has very
well structured credit laws and computer systems for tracking credit
histories. They help keep the Chilean economy stable from massive
flows of currency in to and out of the country by speculators such in
other Latin American countries. It is also one of the reasons that
your investment in a property in Chile will remain stable.
