Puerto Cisnes Buses, Boats, Transportation

Puerto Cisnes has bus service from the city of Coyhaique everyday, and is serviced by a couple diffrent bus companies. Transportation to surrounding areas tends to be by collectivo type transportation in private cars or trucks.  In this part of the Patagonia a car or light pickup is recommended as public transportation can be irregular and expensive. The city of Coyhaique has many car rental agencies, and the larger ones have rental agencies at the Coyhaique / Barmacedia airport. Better deals can likly be negotated inside the town of Coyhaique, as there are many smaller car rental agencies.

Private boats can be arranged at the naval station for short trips to the National parks and out in to the channels.

There is also a ferry service from Chiloe, but expect over 24 hour ride. It is recommended that this only be used for car transport, and not as a major means of getting to or from Puerto Cisnes.
