For big budgets, we would recommend locations that use the word “hotel” in there advertising. This would include the major international brand names, and also some Quality local Hotels. Expect the word “hotel” to be associated with better quality. In the middle to budget level, we would recommend “Pensions”, “Hostels”, and “Hospedaje”. In terms of Hostels, do not expect to find Hostels in the sense of European backpacker sorts of places with dormitory and bars. None the less, they often are clean, respectable, friendly, and a very good deal in All Southern Chile. Sometimes, the quality will exceed that of many places marked “Hotel”.

| The small yellow front of the Hostal Montt does not do proper justice to this incredible place to stay in central Temuco. What do you get for your Peso? The dry version: a room, cable television, and breakfast. However, this, like the entrance to the Hostal Montt, does not do proper justice to what you really get. What you really get is a touch of home with professional class. |
